How I work
My name is Mark, I am committed to providing counselling and psychotherapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment.
I work with individuals (18+) on a 1:1 open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully.
I am able to offer both short-term counselling and longer-term psychotherapy, for clients who feel they need to do more in-depth work. There is the option for brief therapy when appropriate, but I tend to work longer term to facilitate deep and lasting change, so some clients choose to see me for psychotherapy and counselling on an open-ended basis and others book a set number of sessions.
I am registered as a psychotherapist in training and clinical practice with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), which is a professional body who ensure that all their practitioners are following a strict code of conduct and embarking on regular training and practice to keep their clinical skills up-to-date. My UKCP registration no. is 2011167915.
All of my work is conducted under regular supervision by an experienced, accredited UKCP supervisor.
I am in my fourth year of my training, and I am currently studying for a Masters Degree (MA) in Mindfulness Based Core Process Psychotherapy at The Karuna Institute in Devon accredited by Middlesex University. Prior to joining the MA at The Karuna Institute I gained a level 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills from Peter Symonds College in Winchester. I also have a diploma in Mindfulness and am an endorsed Buddhist Healthcare chaplain and Hon. Treasurer of the Buddhist Chaplaincy Group.
